What's Included
Hayfield Cottage
Hayfield Cottage is a category C listed cottage built in approx. 1850, and fully renovated between 2015 and 2017. It is located on Auchendryne Square in Braemar, a few hundred yards from The Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park where the annual Braemar Gathering takes place.
Recent information is available on the facebook page.
During the recent renovations the cottage was completely rebuilt from the inside including the plumbing and electrical systems, and was also fully insulated and centrally heated. The two wood burning stoves aren't needed to keep the house warm and cosy, but they can be a welcome addition in the winter.
Hayfield is suitable for children and also for people who have difficulty getting around, as all of the essentials are on the ground floor. Unfortunately we are unable to accept pets.
There is one double bedroom on the ground floor, as well two further bedrooms (one double and one twin) on the first floor.
The dining room seats 6 and includes a wood burning stove. The sitting room has two sofas and seats 6 - it also has a TV.
The shower room has a powerful electric shower and was completely replaced and retiled in the renovations.
There is a large garden with a patio and gas barbecue which is ideal when the sun comes out.
There is also a large outside store which can be used to secure bikes and anything bulky or muddy (we do ask that bikes and other outdoor equipment is kept in the store rather than taken inside)
Local Activities
For the hill walker, the hills of Deeside start at the front door; for the skier, the cottage is conveniently placed for both The Lecht and Glenshee ski slopes; golf, hunting, shooting, fishing, pony-trekking, gliding and many more outdoor and water sports activities are all available locally. At the end of the day, relax in the garden or in front of the stove in the sitting room.
